Vince Vaughn blames his kids’ sports for missing The Kentucky Derby | #sports | #elderly | #seniors
When Vince Vaughn was a kid, his father took him to horse races.
As a 51-year-old father, he missed Saturday’s running of the The Kentucky Derby because of the logistics involved in his kids’ baseball and soccer games.
“I usually always watch the Derby,” Vaughn said by Zoom on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . “I never miss it, but this year, because of kids’ sports, I did miss the Derby.”
“There was a baseball game and a soccer game, and there was traveling involved. We’ve talked about this. For some reason, you have to drive 35 minutes to play other nine-year-olds. It’s a confusing process. I don’t understand it, but I’m on the train. It’s not stopping, but I don’t understand. … I don’t know which field is what. There’s a field behind the field, and you didn’t know about that. People are in tears, and you’re late. It’s all complicated. But I’m glad we’re playing! I’m grateful the kids are back playing sports.”
