The (4-1) Panthers of Camp Point Central went about their work on the turf with a clear sense of purpose on Thursday afternoon. Head Coach Brad Dixon reviewed player assignments on special teams, and on defense, as the countdown rolled on in regards to tomorrow’s showdown against the (5-0) Tigers of Greenfield/Northwestern. Coach Dixon offers some insight on why this match-up on “Football Friday Night” will be so unique.
The Quincy High football program received some good news on Thursday. Senior Tate Meyer has been medically cleared to return to the gridiron this week. The Blue Devils quarterback has been sidelined the past three weeks due to a lower body injury. QHS head coach Rick Little confirmed with WGEM Sports Thursday evening that Meyer will get the start tomorrow night against Rock Island. Coach Little also stated, “With Tate back, it opens up our playbook and allows us to play off of Tate’s strengths.” Quincy High and Rock Island will meet on the field Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Flinn Memorial Stadium . Meanwhile in teh “Show me State” Thursday afternoon, it was a certainly a proud day for the Hannibal Pirates wrestling program. It was a special day because one of th programs prized members, Gavin Morawitz, signed a National Letter Of Intent just after 4:00 p.m. with Hannibal-LaGrange University.
