A Marshfield insurance agent is facing charges related to their alleged defrauding of an elderly couple.
According to Casenet, Lacey E. Stokes of Marshfield is facing charges of stealing and exploiting an elderly person.
Court documents say that a couple in their 70s filed a report with the Marshfield Police Department on April 16, claiming they learned policies they bought from Stokes of the L Stokes Agency, LLC were suspended or canceled for non-payment.
The victims paid over $5,000 for auto, farm, home, cabin, and boat dock insurance.
The Missouri Department of Insurance has been investigating multiple claims against Stokes.
Casenet says Stokes is represented by Brady Musgrave of Jones & Musgrave.
