A Pioneer man is in custody accused of walking behind an elementary school with a shotgun, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office said on Thursday.
– New tonight, a major scare at an Amador County School. The principal at Pioneer Elementary called 9-1-1 this morning after students and staff spotted a man armed with a shotgun, walking along the school’s back fence. School went into lockdown, and by the time deputies arrived, the man had left the property.
Investigators later encountered Michael Wilson outside his home near the school. After a short fight, he was taken into custody. Deputies found two loaded guns on his property. Investigators say Wilson admitted to carrying a gun near the school and also said he was high on drugs and alcohol.
